Emerson Belle Amor is your average girl, despite that mouthful of a name. She spends her spare time studying or reading, hanging out with her extremely insane and fashionable best friend, sassy back to annoying classmates, and honestly, living her life without anything happening it that would make her explode.
That was all until her mother got offered the biggest chance of a lifetime. At least it was big for them. Ashley Amor was finally recognized as an author by a publishing company. But there's a catch.
She has six months to come up with a completely different romance novel, one that no one has ever read before. So she needs a new idea. Except there's a time crunch, a writers block, and of course her daughter wants to volunteer to help her.
Emerson has never been in a relationship. She barely ever talks to boys, her best friend does that enough for the both of them. So what will she do?
She decides to jump out into the treacherous waters that is love. Except she isn't really panning for love. She just needs to tell her mom a good story, but who will be the lucky guy?
Everett King. The mislabelled almost loner, since he has all of two friends, yet still dark and mysterious enough. He is cold, sarcastic, and an overall pain in the ass. Emerson needs romance. She doesn't think he can do it, but oddly she decides to get close to him, hoping all of their moments together will be enough to blow the publicists away.
But where is the real romance? Will Emerson find something she thought she never need? And will Everett find out about all of this? Will he find out that her affection wasn't even true, that it was all a lie from the beginning? And will Ashley Amor get her love story?
