Alice’s mother broke the news to her swiftly: they were moving across the country to California. Not only did Alice not care for the sunshine and girls in bikinis, she wasn’t looking to upend her whole entire existence just for her mom’s job. As soon as she hits the sands of California, she’s fascinated by the people. Never displaying herself, never talking to anyone, just watching. That is, until a mysterious boy in sunglasses decides to talk to her first, and show her the underground secrets of life on the West Coast. Intrigued and unaware of surfacing emotions, Alice embarks on the summer of a lifetime, which may end way sooner than she’d hoped.
