One little brother, a mom, a dad, a dog, and a cat. We are middle class.
Yet, people say I am E-X-T-R-A~O-R-D-I-N-A-R-Y.
I am not magical and I have too many flaws to count.
They say I am smart, kind, and studious, loves to learn and skipped fifth grade.
They say that I am reading at a eleventh grade level and have a 12th grade level quantile score in math all in seventh grade.
They say since I broke the standardized tests in 3rd and 4th grade and they counted my score as an anomaly that I am
E-X-T-R-A~O-R-D-I-N-A-R-Y. I am not E-X-T-R-A~O-R-D-I-N-A-R-Y. I just don't understand.
There are others in the world like me, right? I am sure there are.
There are so many other people better than me, smarter than me, wiser than me. I understand that. They don't.
Just stop calling me E-X-T-R-A~O-R-D-I-N-A-R-Y! I need it to stop.
It makes me feel so isolated, lonely, and awkward. I don't fit in with my peers.
I am excluded and called names. I am bullied because I am different.
