the glades (the barks of the night book one)

I stared at the mirror in disbelief that it was actually me in the reflection. It was me but I was different. My usually ragged brown hair was brighter had yellow highlights more combed and longer. My already pale face was paler. My hazel eyes were a golden yellow with cat eye pupils in the middle of them. I backed up in disbelief that my body would change. But it has. My usual wimpy weak body structure was more toned and stronger. I lift up my old ragged shirt up to my stomach to see if my birthmark was the same. It wasn't. It was more tan with yellow spots on the mark. Like a leopard or a cheetah. I stare at myself a little then drop my shirt down to my waist again. I shuffled back away from the mirror. The legend of the glades were true. I was the big cat. I lie down on my hard bed to think about this. Still I think it's a dream.
