Meena Acosko has been dancing since she was six. Her mother encouraged her whole heartedly while her dad ridiculed her. Because of this, Meena was determined to be the greatest contemporary dancer anyone has ever seen. She became serious and independent, not going out to parties or having any friends. Many thought of her as an uptight bitch although they'd never met the real her.
Zachary Morello is a street dancer and fighter. He dances in competitions on weekdays and fights on weekends. His father doesn't care for it, or Zack's reckless behavior, so he does what he wants. When he meets Meena, he challenges her to a dance battle at one of his spots. Although Meena knows nothing about street dancing, she stills shows him up. Zack is intrigued by this girl who acts serious and strict but dances so freely and wild.
As they spend more time together, Meena finds herself opening up and being more friendly. But everything changes when she finds out she has to have a partner to audition for the college she wants to go to. Zack offers, but how could he? He was street, not contemporary. Unfortunately, he is her last resort.
Will this blow up in Meena's face, or turn out for the better? Does Meena like Zack as more then a friend? How will she cope with school, dancing, and her feelings toward Zack?
