After sixteen year old Crimson loses his parents to a monster within the deepest depths of the Pokémon Tower's basement, he is approached by a mysterious man, who offers him purpose. 

Crimson refuses, and decides to go on a Pokémon journey of his own. 

Accompanied by no one, he sets out from Lavender Town, with plans to see the world.
