Ashryna is the daughter of the king of the Greek city state of Asine, part of the kingdom of Argos, ruled by High King Diomedes. Happy, and living a blissful life filled with silk chitons, malachite for the eyes, kohl from Egypt, beautiful gardens, and gold marble palaces. One day the army of Argos ransacks the city for its choice to support Sparta in its war against Argos. Hunted, scared, hungry, exhausted, Ashryna and her brother escape, then are thrust into a new world of revolution. Revolutionaries, leaders, assassins. She suffers, watchs those she loves die, falls in love, and is reborn like a phoenix from the ashes of her city, ready to reclaim what is hers, but is there anything left to save?
