Elsa had nowhere to go and no one to help her, until she fell through the barrier to platform 9 and 3/4 (chased by an angry psychopath). Now she has somewhere and quite a few someones, as long as she keeps everyone believing that she's a witch. Then Voldemort gets involved and things really get complicated.
