Everyone at eighteen, gathers together at their school for some sort of celebration. And that's when the necklaces are activated.
If your 'soulmate' is near, your necklace will warm.
I never believed in the necklaces... I never believed it would actually work. I always believed that mine would stay forever icy against my throat.
