Celeste lives in a world of Angels. Well, sort of. Celeste belongs to a race called the Ava, who are like humans except for two key features. They all possess a functional set of bird wings, and they all have special abilities. Celeste can fly just as well and even better than most of her peers, but she failed to gain abilities like they did around the age of fifteen. That's what everyone (herself included) believes, until she steals something that doesn't belong to her and someone else pays the consequences.

The angel race exists up in the Heavens above the fluffy clouds that people on Earth see. The angels have wings along with some powers to make their job a little bit easier. Their job is to help humans with problems such as depression. They help them through their tough times, to offer them support when they feel like they have no one. These angels are known as Watchers up in Heaven. Eva Grace has been training her whole life to be a Watcher. She has studied the history of angels, the history of humans along with the developments they have made, and she has been training on how to fight demons. Her ancestors have watched the fall of the Roman Empire and one of her ancestors helped a battle general during that time.
