It's 1941, Hitler is in power and Venora Little is caught in his regime's hands. For being a spy, the Nazi's have placed her in Warsaw, a ghetto that houses Jews. With Venora, comes a little girl named Marie who is determined to find the meaning of freedom. Then there is Peter, a nazi who has fallen in love with Venora. They could have a wonderful life together, but Hitler is in the way. One word spoken, and they could find themselves in a gas chamber.
