A driver, a hitchhiker, and seven days to reach the Pacific Coast. What begins as a road trip soon becomes a complex love story that will leave neither young man unchanged.
  ____________
As long as Jude Kagan can remember, he's felt like a fraud. But Matthew Banks can still remember a time when it felt like adventure was possible. Before fear set in and drove all the dreams out.

Jude is the son of immigrants, an only child who went from being a high school football star to a university dropout. At 28, he's living in his parents' basement and plotting his escape.

Matthew is 22, a disciplined scholar and frustrated idealist. He's spending the summer planting trees in a backwoods clear-cut, while he contemplates his next move.

Now, Jude's travelling cross-country before catching a flight from the Pacific coast to Tokyo. When Matthew decides to abandon his job and hitchhike out west, he meets Jude on the road, and thus begins an adventure neither of them could have anticipated.

Their journey takes them clear across the country and deep into the mystery of themselves, culminating in their visit to the spectacular Homunculus Alternative Arts Festival: an anarchic desert night of ritual, music, remembrance, and transformation under the stars.

This is a story of the road, of the land, of self-discovery, and of love - in the tradition of MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO and BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. Told with humour and empathy, THE ROAD TO YOU will not disappoint those readers hungry for smart stories about how we become who we are, and how we get to where we are going.

A Thin Line Between Love & Hate (Love Conquers All series) ORIGINAL VERSION by AMS1971
82 parts Complete Mature
NOTE: This is the ORIGINAL version. The revised version, which includes multiple added scenes and extended storylines, will be published on amazon as two separate books (A Thin Line Between Love & Hate / A Short Distance Between Heaven & Hell). The revised versions may or may not be uploaded onto wattpad, I haven't yet decided if I will be doing that. **The extremist group in this story is based on the Westboro Baptist Church located in Topeka, Kansas. ________________________________ Josh Waylon is a prisoner in his own home, his own mind. Part of an extreme religious group who has targeted homosexuals, Josh is forced to live the hate that the leader--his father--has poisoned them with. But Josh has a secret of his own, one which would bring him extreme pain and punishment within the group and alienate him from everyone he knows. When the group moves to a new town, a community which is predominantly LGBTQ, and Josh starts at the new school, he feels like a sheep amidst wolves as the many gay kids within the school know exactly who he is and what his family does. Josh feels no security with his two older brothers, who expect him to suck it up and accept the persecution as a servant of God. Brandon Nichols immediately detects the difference between Josh and his brothers, seeing deeper within the young man and the truth he is hiding, desperate not to be found out. Brandon believes his calling is to help bridge the gap between the gays and Christians in his school, but he has his work cut out for him with Josh Waylon and the extremist group that has him locked down--emotionally, spiritually...and sexually.

"Why did this feel so absolutely perfect?! And hey, how come nobody told me I was gay?!" Sean is an artistic guy. He loves to draw, more digitally than on paper, let alone his own skin. Mark was not as artistic as Sean. He focused his creativity more on comedy than art. They're both sick of waiting for their soulmates to show up. Hell, they're twenty-something, and still looking! The two boys are so busy looking for their other half, that they don't notice the little things; Mark scribbling notes on his hands for strategy games, Sean writing down dates for collab videos, and the random bored pen scribbles. But one day, their wild goose chase gets flipped on it's head. Ethan is a different story altogether. He just flat-out doesn't believe in soulmates. He pretends he does to make his friends happy, and to fit in so he feels like he belongs, but no matter how much he wishes he could, the blue boy just can't bring himself to believe in it. All those little doodles on his arms bring him are pain and emptyness. Tyler knows Ethan is his soulmate, and when he figures out what Ethan's been trying to hide, it breaks his heart. Tyler fears that if he can't make Ethan love him, it's going to be a repeat of his childhood all over again... this time, from third person. Who's that woman in the picture on Sean's dresser? Why does Mark care so much? Why doesn't Ethan believe in soulmates? Why does Tyler need him to? All of them have secrets they think no one else knows. But if they want a happily-ever-after, they can't stay secrets for long. And just... What is Kat's deal?! (The AU is basically when someone writes on their skin or gets a tattoo or etc., it also appears on their soulmate's skin in the exact same place.)

NOTE: I REVISED BEFORE YOU GO, SO THERE WILL BE SOME MISINFORMATION IN THIS ONE REGARDING LEON & ELIZA'S RELATIONSHIP. I WILL FIX IT SOON, THOUGH! * I would HIGHLY recommend reading BEFORE YOU GO and THE ONE YOU FIGHT FOR before you read this novel. This novel is a criss-cross between them and will include some major spoilers!* Leo Sangster has a bucket list tucked away safely, folded between the pages of his favourite book. And it's been there for nearly fifteen years. He hasn't tried to read it. He can't. He won't. Because that one piece of paper is a large piece of his father -- someone he's never met and never will be able to meet. But as Leo finds himself heading to Whistler, BC to explore where his father was born and who he was before he died in a car accident, he begins to wonder if that bucket list could give him any clues. Aria Madden is the daughter of the now-retired, famous NHL player, Luke Madden. Anyone would consider that a lot to live up to, but Aria is content with her current position. In January, she'll be competing in the Winter Olympics for Canada's women's hockey team. Over the summer, she's going to be training in Whistler, BC with the rest of the team, all while staying at her aunt's house. But even though it seems like she has everything under control, Aria is stuck in a whirlwind of anxiety. While she's happy and excited that her hard work has paid off, she's worried she won't live up to her father's legacy. When Leo and Aria cross paths on a fateful summer day, they're thrown into the chaos of an unforgettable summer adventure -- filled with charming and mysterious people, astounding views, and alpine air. But as the summer continues on and the heat is amped up, undeniable chemistry begins to brew between the two of them. But what happens when summer ends and they have to go their separate ways? Will they give up on the chemistry or will they find a way to make it work?

Some days go right Some days go wrong Some days don't go at all. Simon is sixteen and on the edge of everything changing, his world changing from adolescent to adult, to him facing the world and coming out to it, but not just yet. Now, his boyfriend is late and he's sat on a cold, concrete bench waiting, waiting, waiting... Coming out is a big and important thing for so many LGBT people and yet it doesn't come with a rule book or a road map. Over eighteen different days, during four weeks in spring, this story follows Simon as he navigates the difficult journey of his coming out, made no easier by his parents' complicated lives. Like all journeys, this one will change him but in ways he doesn't imagine, taking him places he didn't expect to go, but this is a journey without Google Maps.
