Marshall, a washed up writer moves to a new city after his marriage fails. His old publisher asks him to go back to writing in order to get his life back on track. Marshall decides to give it a shot.

Marshall struggles to find a story worth telling and his growing intimacy with depression is not helping. Gradually he finds a sense of inspiration from an unlikely source. He finds new ways of viewing life. Discovers unknown aspects of his existence. Eventually writing this book becomes a far bigger deal than he initially made it to be.
