'The world kept turning, but ever since he showed up, time slowed back down, as if I was alive.' Alexis was 17, but also hundreds of years old. She lived in a large summer home at Granite Cove, and she was usually alone. The house always seemed to make her content, she never felt like she needed anything else, until she saw Connor. Connor had moved with his sister to Granite Cove because of another 'accident' that had occurred in their old town, and he just so happened to move into Alexis' home. Something about Connor made her want to talk to him, for him to want to talk to her. Of course Connor wouldn't care, because he was entranced by a beautiful girl who lived across the beach named Selene. He loved her very deeply although she didn't feel the same way because she was just a puppet, controlled by a demon who sees Alexis and Connor as a great way to make a deal. Hello! This is my first book I intend on writing... That's actually somewhat enjoyable to read. I hope this is interesting! Happy reading!

Danika Rose is not your average teenager. While most of her peers are going to parties and worrying about finals, she is struggling with an addiction to a substance more powerful than any drug: magic. This addiction has torn her family apart and has turned all of her friends against her. She has used the people she loves and made them think she is unreliable at best - and dangerous at worst. After a devastating wake-up call, she decides to get sober... but it isn't so easy. She begins to think that she will never recover until she meets someone who will change everything: a boy named Adam Keane. Adam is handsome, smart, funny - everything you could want in a guy. There's just one problem: Adam has more strong, potent magic inside him than anyone she has ever met. As she falls for him, she can't help but wonder if it is him she loves, or if it is the magic. Is she attracted to his sweet kind demeanor? Or to the power she wants to take for herself? As the first novelette in the Addiction series reaches its dramatic, heart-stopping conclusion, Danika must decide if she can love Adam without losing herself - and her sobriety - in the process.
