Moving to Gotham City was already stressful enough for Aphrodite Johnson; the addition of having to juggle her strange attacks, new job and overall curiosity about The Batman didn't make for a peaceful transition.
A series of murders occur and she garners unwanted attention due to her abilities. She soon encounters a hidden society, hungry for the power she possesses and is tossed in the midst of a prophecy. A prophecy that intends to permanently shift the balance of life as usual in Gotham City and possibly the world. Desperately in need of help, Batman comes to her aid, ready to eradicate the cause and determined to keep her safe from the cursed cesspool that is Gotham City.

As an aspiring writer, it's difficult not to look at stories you love and wonder 'What if?' I have notice how the Joker's origin in The Killing Joke and the Joker movie (2019) both stories take place during the 1980s. But what if it took place today? That's what I try to answer! In this original work I explore how a complex character like the Joker could emerge and be influence by current social problems. It's a romantic, and specially mysterious short story that I wish one day could help me make it to DC as a comic book writer, and if I don't, at least I enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it! Growing up in a shit life was never easy, but when you have to fend for yourself in a city like Gotham, becoming a bit of a criminal is basically inevitable. She only had one friend and he was an orphan like her, but she never went into the system. She helped him get through life and though he didn't condone her life of crime he loved her just the same. He would sneak her in so she would have a place to sleep sometimes. Finally when she started to create a name for herself, he ended up pushing her away. They haven't seen each other in years until fate brings them back to try and save the city from Bane with the help of The Batman. I do not own Batman or anything. I just own my character. By day, Barbara Gordon is a computer-science major at Gotham State University. By night, she becomes Batgirl, a vigilante who was inspired by Batman's heroism. While she was out of the spotlight for a long time, Barbara is back and ready to be Batgirl now more so than ever. With the boys of the Justice League out, Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman, is prepared to go into battle and serve justice.
