On their two- year anniversary Clary walks in on Jace cheating.  She runs away not telling anybody.  The Shadowhunters don't realize she's gone until it is too late.  Clary, heart-broken and sad, runs away through a portal.  She is found by a group of nine guys and their leader.  Their leader soon dies making Clary the new leader.  Five years later she and her group called the Shadows are asked to help the Shadowhunters of the New York Institute with their increase of demon activity.  What will happen when Clary and Jace see each other again?  Will old love spark or will Clace forever be broken?  What'll happen
 when the New York City Shadowhunters find out that one of the Shadows is Clary's brother?  But it isn't Sebastian.  No this is Jonathan.  He doesn't have black, soulless eyes like Sebastian.  He has green eyes like Clary.

This happens after the city of heavenly fire.(In the Mortal Instruments series) She walks in gracefully and says with so much venom, that I flinch, "Sit down and listen." I obey, sensing a very wrong and dangerous vibe from her. She continues, "I am Ms. Smith but you will call me madam." I reply, "And I am Clar-" "I know who you are if not why would I have summoned that demon to kidnap you," she interrupts, glaring at me. I am shocked, why would this lady kidnap me. I am completely perplexed. She must have seen it on my face because she says, "You killed Jonathan Morgenstern when all he did was love you. I HATE YOU. If you weren't there he would have loved me. Now I will take your loved ones away from you." I am just about to reply when she sends electrifying green sparks towards me which make me lose consciousness. When I finally up she says, "I have cursed you. When you leave this house it will be the day of your sixteenth birthday again but this time Simon won't remember you and neither will your other friends especially your lover, Jace. If you get close to them then they will all die after a year. No other warlock can reverse this spell." Clary gets cursed one night by a certain vengeful warlock. That one night turns her whole world upside down. She has no one to trust, to depend on, to love. Will she survive this like she survived everything else or will she lose herself along the way? On top of that horrible sundae of a life there's a cherry of danger to top it off. More and more problems pile up on her plate and she is burdened with all of it.
