Kate was 18, graduating high school in less than 2 weeks. She is bullied by her so called 'friends' and is misunderstood by her parents. Money is short but it's her dream to go to warped tour and she finally gets her chance. After winning tickets to see her idols in person, will it change her for better or for worse and what will happen when she actually meets an idol? Will she finally stand up for herself or crack under too much pressure? Will she even make it to Warped Tour? And if she does, what will happen?

For the next couple of years, her parents have become worse and worse towards her, mentally abusing her because of the music she likes, the way she dresses, and her normal personality. This worsens her depression, and being ignored and lonely doesn't help. This is all until she meets Sam Browman, a kid in school who is a lot like her: dresses "emo," listens to "emo" bands, sings and plays a lot of instruments, and goes through troubles at home. Who knows what may happen to these kids who connect through both having troubles at home? This story is set in the year 2011, when My Chemical Romance was together (before the breakup and reunion). Gerard is new to the school.. he finally got kicked out of his old one, now being forced to go to school with Mikey, not that's it's a bad thing. unlike what people would thing, Gerard and Mikey get along great..it's just other people that bugs Gerard. he sticks out like a sore thumb, hes soft spoken and has pretty feminine features as well as dressing up in pastel clothes (skirts). he gets into fights a lot and he's not afraid to stick up for himself but it gets tiring so he normally lets his bully's do whatever they need. at his new school he meets Frank. he's known to not let people push him the wrong way and he'll call you out on your bullshit. Frank finds Gerard...uh, interesting. it's hard to tell what Gerard is thinking most times and that really bugs Frank. Gerard tends to be in his own and Frank wants to change that...but how can he? Gerard will forever be known as the "cross dresser" and Frank will always be seen as "too good" for Gerard.

But, their differences don't keep them apart considering these strangers are forced into each other's lives when Gerard finds Frank attempting to commit suicide.
