In a post apocalyptic world, a sarcastic young girl finds herself more alone than ever.  Or so she thought... When she comes across an unlikely friend in the middle of nowhere, her world is turned upside down once again.  But will it be for the better? With death around every corner, this duo sets off to survive a world out to eat them alive. 

Abyss is the first part in a series of short stories I am writing for a friend. Depending on it's popularity, I may or may not post a sequel. But for now I have several works on the go, so be sure to look out for those in the future, and happy reading!

Kim Minji has always had it rough. Her parents were murdered right in front of her and her older brother blames her for their deaths. Her whole life changed with one apocalypse and one boy who is determined to protect her until his very last breath. I opened the door to see the boy again, sitting on the ledge this time with his feet dangling over the edge. "You're back." I announced as I walked towards him and sat down beside him. He looked up at me and then back out to the city. "You are too." He said quietly as I slurped up some noodles. "Want some?" I asked and he shook his head. It was quiet again as the wind blew past us and the sound of cars driving past. "I didn't get your name earlier." I said. "Hyunsoo." He answered bluntly. I nodded. "Nice to meet you Hyunsoo."
