Elizabeth Tolliver grew up in her grandfather's mythological bedtime stories, where dragons, wizards, and unicorns were common, and an imagination could run wild. John taught young Elizabeth to dream and believe in anything.
Ten years after the tragic accident that killed her parents, death once again comes upon Elizabeth's door, and life seems to lose that spark of magic that her grandfather had kept alive inside of her. She comes to see that it was all simply a fantasy. However, as she quickly discovers, so was her entire life. (short story)
