He walks up to me, the girl standing behind him. "Hello Jordan," Gillespie says. He points to the girl. "This little lady here is a new student. I'm gonna have her work with you today, show her the ropes. Behave yourselves." Before I get a chance to protest, Gillespie walks off to check on other people's progress. The girl just stands there, looking at me quizzically. "Um," I say. "Do you have a name?" "Yes," she says, and I'm struck by her accent. I think it's French. "My name is Nicole, Nicole Lavoie." "Interesting. Say, is that a French accent I hear? Are you from Quebec or something?" "Yes, I am, she says. "Montreal, to be exact." "Really? I've always wanted to go there!" "That's awesome. Uh, your name is Jordan, right?" "Yes, yes it is." *** Jordan Devlin is a hockey player, and a good one at that. Although hockey has always been his passion, there is one thing that he hasn't been able to figure out: love. When he suddenly meets a girl he finds incredibly attractive, he is unsure of what to do. What will Jordan do about this girl, now that he finds his life turned upside down? *** "Tell me a bit about yourself. You're the first person here that I've talked to since coming here." "Alright," I say, unsure of what to say next. "I spend a lot of my time playing hockey. That's where I strive to be professionally." "You're a hockey player, huh? Nicole asks excitedly. "What position?" "Centre." "Cool. You do much of anything else?" I shrug. "No. Just a hockey player." "Are you any good?" "How does fifty goals in twenty games sound to you?" Her eyes widen. "That's near impossible, isn't it?" "Apparently not." "That's impressive. Now, let's get to work. The teacher is staring at us." I nod, and we get to work. The whole time, I cannot help but smile stupidly, because Nicole took such an interest in me, and who I am. She seems so full of life, and not one to let it bring her down. I'm beginning to like her already.

[WATTYS 2022 SHORTLIST] "Hello again, Pizza Boy?" I glanced up at him with a smile. The blood was rushing out my head but it didn't bother me. "Are you back to make another attempt on my life?" "Shut up," he fumbled, absolutely petrified. "I-I hate you!" I laughed as we were both red in the face; one more sticky then the other, "Aww, I hate you too." My hands held my non-beating chest. "It's mutual trust me. But I guess you really want your Xbox back huh?" -- 17 year-old Evelyn Gates has a quiet yet witty personality. She usually stays in the background and is mediocre at literally everything... just ask anyone. She enjoys the smell of pizza and watching Guy Fieri stuff his face with food in her free time. Oh, and there's one more thing... she's immortal. That's right, Evelyn can't die, and she doesn't know why. Her body just magically puts itself back together again after tragic incidents. She calls it a curse, but the one other person who knows about it calls it a miracle. It's not until her pizza order turns deadly and her mom's boyfriend changes his outlook on life, when Evelyn finds out that there might be some more people involved with her immortality; people who are puppeteering her life and will stop at nothing but to destroy her. - Featured on: @TeenFiction 'FunnyBones' reading list: October 6th, 2021 @StoriesUndiscovered 'The Power of Laughter' reading list: June 1st -30th, 2021 -- Since mock websites are becoming more common, unfortunately, I have to give the disclaimer that this story is only being published on Wattpad. "Bianca what the fuck was that?" David says to me as we walk inside his house. The whole car ride was silent, no one uttered a word and I don't know why. I hate silence. Silence allows the brain to think about a lot of shit over and over. He already had a lot of things replaying in his head. He probably thought about how to reply to my comments. He just had this whole conversation planned out already. "What was what?" I reply sitting down on the couch. I sigh of relief that I finally got a chance to take off my heels. "Y'all got something going on between y'all, don't y'all?" David replies standing up "I don't know what you're talking about" I unzip my jacket sitting it down beside me. I knew my nonchalantness would piss him off. "Bianca stop fucking playing with me" David spat back. He's not the type to raise his voice during an argument. You knew he was mad when he starts cursing at you and says your name all in the same sentence. "I'm not doing anything. I don't know what or who you're talking about David" I take out my phone and start to text Parish telling her how the event went. "You fucking Chris aren't you?" I just looked up at him making a stank face and then back down at my phone. "Hello? I'm talking to you" David stands in front of me. I wasn't in the mood to bicker back and forth with him right now. I could've just told him yes, but he didn't want to know the truth. He smacks my phone out of my hand. I look up at him "Are you fucking him?!" He yells at me and that took me off guard. "No!" I shout back at him. "Are we done yelling?" I ask calmly raising an eyebrow. "You think this shit funny?" He questions "Go home"
