Risum (my oc) x Homicidal Liu
Risum is a girl, one that the authorities thought was a boy. Homicidal Liu is a boy, one everybody thought was dead. Both are killers. Both are insane. And both harbor a second personality inside of them.
Risum used to be normal. She used to be split into two bodies, named Lilly and Rose. They were sisters. Then there was a car crash, and Lilly died. One thing led to another, and the two sisters merged. (Full story is in "Smile! Or Else...") Lilly, driven mad by her prolonged close proximity to death, became a killer, changing both sister's lives forever.
Homicidal Liu was once a normal boy, named Liu Woods. But then his brother, Jeffery, was driven crazy by bullies with knives, guns, et cetera. Then Jeffery killed their parents and tried to kill Liu. This, of course, changed Liu. A second personality developed inside him, one with a hunger for blood. Liu, thirsty for revenge, targeted his brother.
When the two killers, Homicidal Liu and Risum, met, it was not love at first sight. No, it was more like, "Oh shıt, did she see me kill this dude? Better get rid of her, too." So yeah, shıt's gonna hit the fan.

Excerpt from Chapter Two:
Ahh... After being taken over, the feeling of being in your own body is simply divine. You can stretch your muscles, relax, and do whatever you want. Well, you can if nobody is trying to kill you. Which, in my case, is happening right now. Great.

Amid the Embers may look like your typical post-apocalyptic story. It's not. Yes, it starts with the Noxborne Virus. Yes, the world falls apart, fast. But this isn't about scavenging for canned beans or dodging zombies in alleyways. This is about what comes after, the slow, intimate rot of systems, memories, and mercy.
It begins with Lily, a CNA in a Chicago hospital, witnessing the final moments of Patient Zero. From there, the story fractures into multiple points of view: survivors, manipulators, believers, and the broken children caught in between. A rising cult twists faith into control. Trauma rewrites love, loyalty, and identity.
Each chapter ends with a bonus scene, hidden thoughts and memories, alternate angles, haunted echoes that refuse to stay buried. This trilogy blends psychological horror with emotional realism. Every laugh hides a wound. Every wound starts a story.
Amid the Embers is not about saving the world.
It's about surviving the memory of it and what it turns you into.
