Eighteen-year-old Kendal is simply sad, which seems hard for everyone to realize. Lost in her own world of thoughts, she exploits everything she does not deem necessary from their existence; homework, classmates, teachers, and sometimes her parents.. As a senior with nt plans after graduation, this jumpstarts her parents to make a decision for her. Kendal immediately assumes the worst, a mental hospital, but instead, she is swept up north to Main to visit her fisherman uncle on a lake house in order to clear her mind. Relieved, she finds her parent's symbolism from the salt-water ocean of Florida to her vacation in the clear lakes of Main quite hysterical.Sleeping on the roof every night, Kendal still searches for the end to her sadness, but instead only learns in the ins and outs of the fishing business. One night Kendall sees something she can't comprehends, something she can't quite put her finger on, something not right. Kendal knows she should be focusing on getting better, but doesn't know a better way but to affiliate herself into this mystery. This was a vacation after all. She was supposed to vacate from her sadistic mind, only for a little.
