"I REFUSE TO BE PART IN A WAR MY OWN KING STARTED!" Adrastea shouted, loosing her temper once more and throwing her chair across the room.
"We don't want a war," Adrianna told her quietly, trying to keep her composure.
Adrastea rolled her eyes and peered at Adrianna, burrowing down into the very pit of her soul.
    "You already have one."
"Please, if you two would just get along, we might be able to solve this," Chandra tried to reason.
Dagon looked at Diomedes with a confused expression, than turned his attention to Adrastea.
"If your own king started this war, as you say, then why are you not part of it?" he asked reasonably.
Adrastea snapped her head in his direction with that same cold gaze, but he remained completely calm.
"He may be my king, but it makes my stomach lurch to have to admit it," Adrastea told Dagon in a low voice.
"Everyone! Calm down! I know it's a mismatched group, but you're the best we've got," Cephalus interrupted, seeing where this was heading.
Marcy swallowed hard and walked slowly behind Weland. This was not what she had signed up for.
    "Huh, yeah," Diomedes mumbled.
"If they don't kill each other first."

One year ago, Prythian suffered an attack at the hands of the necromancer, Melantha. She was ultimately defeated, but the marks of her terrible influence still remain in the memories and on the bodies of her victims. Wynter, Heir to the Winter Court, bears many of those marks. Unable to live with himself after what happened on the island Inmortui, Wynter chose to go into seclusion and face his lingering trauma alone. Regardless of his attempts to isolate himself, there are those who refuse to abandon him, no matter how badly he wishes they would. Elodie Rohese has carried a fondness towards Wynter since she first met him, just before he was kidnapped by Melantha. She refuses to leave him alone in his isolation, and instead, visits his home frequently, even though he never admits her. Despite her uncle's wrath and prejudices, Elodie continues to reach out to Wynter. When circumstances finally drive Wynter to answer her, they are both swept into a storm of unresolved trauma and unacknowledged romance. Together, they can weather the storm, but apart, it will only break them. Disclaimer: I do not own the ACOTAR series or the characters and places therein. Feel free to click off if any of these make you uncomfortable. ~•~ Something about it was so mysterious about this cave, and I wanted to know more. I entered the cave and saw a red crystal sealed in ice. "Woah." I whispered. The crystal glowed and the ice shattered. I jumped back and fell to the ground, watching as the ice broke completely. My eyes widened and I looked at my hands. "Did I do that?" I asked, but before I could answer, I heard a guard shout for backup as they had heard the ice shattering. I quickly jumped up and stashed the crystal in my pocket before leaving. I crept to the cave the following day, putting the crystal back into the remains of the ice pillar. As I walked away, the crystal fell, causing it to break into a million pieces. I jumped at the sudden noise and stumbled backwards, my eyes widening as a black smog formed around the crystal. "No, no, no, no! Frick." I desperately tried to grab the remains of the crystal, causing one to cut my hand. "Ow! Shit." I whispered, looking at my bleeding hand. "Tch, tch, tch, poor child." A demonic voice said. I looked up and saw that the black smog had two red eyes and a wide, sick smile that was dripping with venom. "I- who are you?" I asked, backing up. "The one who can help you out of here." It said, stretching out a hand. I looked it up and down and before I could answer, its hand plunged into my heart, causing me to scream out in pain. ❛ a falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes ❜ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ⬩❖⬩ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ "How . . ." She was at a loss for words. This was a dream, right? But if it was, how could she be feeling all of this? How could she feel his magic, or his touch, or the cool air of the corridor? None of it made sense. One of his hands raised, as though wanting to touch her face, but it hesitated before lowering. Some small part of Ana was left disappointed. "You're . . . you're here? How are you here?" Ana swallowed thickly. "I⎯I don't know. I thought I was . . . this is a dream. But then . . ." Realization dawned in his eyes. "Oh." Ana frowned. What did oh mean? "Shit." "What?" Ana asked. She needed answers. This was the second strange thing that had happened in four days. "Why are you saying shit? What's going on?" His hand wrapped around her wrist again and he pulled her through the darkness, away from the door. "She can't know about this. None of them can." "Who can't know about what?" Ana nearly stumbled over her footing, but her years of training kept her upright. "Tell me what's happening. Who even are you? How am I here?"
