Every story comes from somewhere...just not where you think. Since the dawn of time, a colony of mice have been given the job of growing stories, in an underground cave, and delivering them to the writers they've chosen. But Muse City, their underground colony, has been compromised. Someone is killing messenger mice, stealing the stories they carry and getting rich in the process. Kevin Rose, a struggling writer, has been chosen to save them...he just doesn't know it yet.

When Chicago is rid of humans by the release of toxic gases, rodents take over. When the humans come back, the rodents had already recieved a taste of the freedom and they weren't going anywhere. They living on in Chicago. The only problem is that humans brought cats with them to find any survivors. Will the Rodents finally defeat their old foe, or will they fall back into the shadows.
