A dissertation on Fantasy worldbuilding, followed by a short story illustrating the concepts discussed in application. The essay explores the use of archetypal imagery, themes, motifs and tropes in the creation of alternate realities. Inluded are quotes and discussion of the theories of Joseph Campbell, and analysis of the use of monomythology in storytelling. Only part of the acocmpanying story is presently uploaded; I'll need persuading to release more here.
