Lucy Heartfilia is an ordinary celestial mage. (Well, she is quite skilled.) Bright and cheerful, Lucy is almost always seen with her signature smile.
Sting Eucliffe is the classic bad boy: powerful magically and physically, with the looks to match. His personality isn't at all that attractive, though - until the night he met Lucy.
They were supposed to be happy; they were supposed to live together through harmony and chaos; but the wheels of fate had different plans. As a tragic incident with a dark guild enfolds, Lucy is forced to make a decision that is sure to change their lives.
She's made the choice, and he is left with no choice but to grieve. All according to fate's plan, but there's more to come.
With the Grand Magic Games of Year X792 coming sooner than they think, these two separated lovers played by fate are brought back together, one way or another. But circumstances will prove a challenge, as choices certainly don't come easy the second time they meet again.
