In a time when people have maximized profit in nearly every field known to man, a team of six daring young adults have been chosen to lead a team, one that will extend humanity's reach into space. Armed with the best technology available and the manned by the most elite members, Team Exodus blasted off on a decades-long mission.

When the crew unknowingly pass through a wormhole, things go horribly awry and the good ship Venus crash lands in the oceans of a planet reminiscent of their own. But the creatures lurking under the waves are far worse than any whale or shark. Planet Astrion is populated by sirens.

But these sirens are not the sumptuous ladies of the sea that pirate legends speak of, not on Astrion. These are fish hybrids beyond any previous imagination, with their own cultures, tribes, traditions, and history. The members of Team Exodus have stumbled upon the most impactful scientific discovery in the history of humankind, but will they be able to get back home to share it?
