In Clever Reflections, Cinna and Salem are thrown into a parallel universe where everything is created by interpretation of individuals' perspectives, wants, wishes, and expectations. They must learn to navigate this dangerous new world and figure out some way to get back through the mirror. However, while they pass trials, dodge bullets, and daringly escape from tyrannical masterminds, they begin to wonder how different - and how alike - the two worlds actually are...

No one is truly alone...especially where there are reflections. For the longest time, reflections have been a big part of people's lives. They're everywhere. In water, metals, windows, mirrors. Reflections have always been been there. Without them, people wouldn't know what they look like. But have you ever stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, there's another world? A world within those reflections. Others who try to live their lives but can't because of the bond they have with the people who don't even know they exist. Two worlds. One of the reflections and one of the reflected. One watches the other through mirrors. One woman, a single devoted mom in her early twenties, has only know this way of life since the day she was born, as does everyone else. She soon finds herself teaming up with her dear friend, a forced serial killer, to find a way to break this mysterious bond their world has with the reflected. They crave freedom for themselves and future generations and they are determined to reach that goal.

After a night on the town, Sarah wakes up to a miserable hangover. But it's nothing compared to what comes next. After attempting to light a cigarette, she feels that something isn't quite right. Soon she'll discover that everything is very wrong. My entry in the Open Novella Contest III, Feb 2020. April 28. Just got the news that Thirteen Points has made it through the second round. Now I have to finish by May 5th. I'm not as far along as I had hoped at this point, but I'm sure I can make it. May 4th. 12:10 am. Finished. Submitted. Good night. May 20th. Well, 13 Points made the Long List. I have no idea how many original entries there were but about 940 made the first cut. There's 150 on the Long List. Not bad for my first time out. Now we'll wait and see how we fare on the Short List. May 30th. Well, Sarah and company didn't make the Short List. I can't say I'm disappointed though.
