Camila Mavericks is the girl of the dead, she's always been obsessed with the dead and anything associated with it. Day of the dead, Halloween, the legend of the grim reaper, anything that has a skull she loves. A few years ago, she didn't think there was anything special, until a random little girl told her to come with her so she could could show her she was special. Things happened, Camilla barely moved in when she felt it was better for her to leave. Two years later, after moving to L.A to get away from her past, she finds herself reliving that moment. Nova is turned into a vampire as a joke by a classmate because she is vegan, and he thought it would be funny to make a vegan into a carnivore. After Nova is transformed, she has to learn to accept her life, as it is now (infertility, not growing old, intense cravings, and gaining acceptance from those she loves, and new acquaintances, and of course herself. Story follows characters from 7th Grade through their freshman year of college. Chapters are out of sequence, which I think makes this work fun and unique.
