The Collectors are defeated, Cerberus defied, and the SR2 Normandy back from beyond the Omega-4 Relay. Now, while waiting for the reapers, the crew is waiting. While deciding what to do next, Shepard feels her past plaguing her. Following the advice of Yeoman Kelly Chambers, she begins to write of her life.

The characters and all of the other amazing things are the toys of Bioware, I'm just playing with them.

The Phoenix

8 parts Complete Mature

The Reaper attack on the Citadel has been thwarted, and in reward, Shepard is sent to root out the vestiges of the geth that were loyal to Saren. Like a good and loyal Spectre, she accepts the assignment... albeit begrudgingly. She expects it to be a quiet endeavour; something that the Council hopes will keep her warning of the incoming Reaper invasion away from their ears, but she gets far more than she ever bargained for, and a course change she could never have expected. This is a retelling of the beginning of Mass Effect 2, filling in the gaps between Shepard's death and her subsequent resurrection at the hands of Cerberus. Disclaimer: I do not own Mass Effect.
