"My daughter, but Karantoes, I don't have a daughter." Squall shook his head.

"Yet. You do not have a daughter yet," he corrected. "But if you swear she will belong to me and no one else than your punishment will be lifted. No strings attached."

"You're talking nonsense," Squall raised his voice. "Thats to say if I even have a daughter. And what kind of life will that be if I give her to you?"

"A good one," Karantoes promised. "I would not take her right away, I agree she would want to have a life before she meets me so I will grant her 20 years."

"You can't be serious," Squall gasped.

"Oh, but I am. I am trying to work with you here, to save you from death but this is the only thing I could come up with."

"It's barbaric!"

"Yes, and cruel. But I will be none of those things towards her. Squall," he sighed. "I am your good friend, I would not hurt your future daughter in any way."

"I can't give her to you," Squall whispered.
