It's her 16th birthday, Harper can tell people are acting weirdly, but she can't tell why, it's at her bonfire that she finally knows, her dad is a werewolf and her mom is a vampire, also her best friend Jess, is a vampire and her boyfriend of two years is a hunter along with his whole family, yet that's not even the best part, Harper herself is a Hybrid, the mix between a werewolf and a Vampire, far more dangerous than just a werewolf or a plain vampire, and when she can't control it there's only one person who can help, Ace Rogers, who is a 17 year old hottie, and also, like Harper, a Hybrid. But the only way for Harper to control it is if she let's Ace Harper help her and being a psychotic werewolf and vampire in one who can't control it could just be the death of her if she can't control it around the hunters.

North Harper is a third-year college student quietly enduring the struggles of her life. She's brilliant, resourceful, and beautiful beneath her thick glasses and outdated style of fashion, which makes her am easy target to bullies. Bullied and mocked for her appearance-called "turtle girl" by cruel classmates-she seeks solace in her books and her late night visits to her mother's grave. She runs into Valentine, a Vampire Prince, one of those nights and she knows that he's not the kind of guy for one encounter. She's also trapped in the web of his attractiveness and aura, and she finds it hard to untangle herself. Her life takes a dark and unexpected turn one fateful evening when a rogue vampire attacks her on campus. Valentine intervenes, saving her at a great cost. To keep her alive, he breaks one of the cardinal laws of his kind and turns her into a vampire, unknowingly creating a hybrid...something neither human nor fully vampire. As North awakens to her new existence, she is startled by her transformation. Her glasses are no longer needed; her features are sharper, her senses heightened, and her newfound confidence begins to change how others perceive her. But being a hybrid comes with a price: her powers are unstable, her hunger unpredictable, and her very existence places her in grave danger. Valentine takes her under his wing, teaching her to control her abilities and navigate her dual nature. As they grow closer, their connection deepens into something undeniable. But their relationship violates ancient vampire laws forbidding unions between humans and vampires, drawing the attention of the ruthless Vampire Council.

1 part Complete
When you grow up thinking you're human, suddenly turning into a wolf during the full moon just after your seventeenth birthday can be quite traumatizing. Thankful for the help of her two older brothers, Ayla St. John learns to accept the wolf inside of her. Then she meets Ryder, the swoon-worthy high school football star who is impossible to resist. Despite being thrust into a supernatural world she didn't know existed, she maintains her resolve to go to college and try to keep up a normal life, in spite of her monthly full moon disruption. As she begins to accept and thrive in her new life, a devastating tragedy rocks Ayla and her family. Now too restless and distraught to finish college, she moves into the big city of Denver to try to figure out how she's going to go on after her shattering heartbreak. She decides seeking revenge is a good way to spend her time, until she finds herself on the wrong end of a vampire's fangs. The psychic visions that begin to plague her after her attack are crippling. Her quest for vengeance has just doubled. As she hunts for two vampires, she meets Kellan, an infuriatingly sexy vampire himself-a natural enemy she is supposed to hate-and feels an instant pull to him. And he's not going away anytime soon. He wants Ayla, but she's got no time for the silly vampire, no matter how drawn she feels to him. She's also still got Ryder wanting to build a life with her. Once Kellan finds out she's become a hunter, will he still continue to pursue her? The Lunar Effect is book one in The Ayla St. John Chronicles, and is a paranormal romance for readers 18 and older.
