Shortly after Alice Clarkson goes to stay with her mom in an apartment over the summer, she starts seeing her neighbor. Luke and Alice automatically relate to eachother because of the fact they both have broken families. Alice thinks she knows all there is about Luke after just their first date together, but that changes rather quickly when she figures out he isn't being completely honest about the event from his past that has completely wrecked his life. Luke's love for music and writing gives Alice the oppertunity to see what truly is going on with Luke by looking within the lyrics he write. As Alice tries her hardest to ignore her own problems she must try her hardest to heal Luke's. His life has been drained from him, but there is the chance Alice can be the one to revive it and cause Luke to just rid of his horrid thoughts.
