I ran through the dark street, the only parts illuminated by several lamp posts at the side. Hurdling over trash cans and wooden chairs, rustling through small bushes. All this effort just to escape from the Nephilim.
I could see the witch-lights getting closer and the sounds of shoes stomping heavily on the pavement, the huffs of smoke from the cold night air.
I looked over at Nixon who was breathing heavily as he ran beside me but he still managed to give me a cocky grin, "I thought our performance was quite the bomb.... But I guess we didn't think this quite through."
I gave him a smile back as he pulled me into a dark alley.
"Guess we didn't."

I avoided going home because I didn't want them getting any leads. "You're not loosing me, Cello." "It felt like I was," his voice cracked as he chucked a grenade towards the car. I lurched at the explosion and silence followed after our pursuers were eliminated. "Marry me." •• This story will follow a couple trying to navigate the world of organized crime. I gripped the pan and smacked the figure twice on the head when I saw the shadow. "Ow why are you doing that?!" I heard him groan. For good measure I smacked him two more times. " Am I supposed to just let an intruder wander through my house?" I huff. " That's fair" he lets out a laugh. The longer I stared at him the more I realized he wasn't human, more like a shadow. "What do you want?" I asked. I don't know why I was making conversation and not telling him to get out. "Oh yes okay, the blows to the head threw me off" he laughed. "I'm here to collect your soul" he smiles. "I'm not dead" I inform him. He comes close and I move back, "oh sorry this must be weird let me change into a form better suited for this plane".
