Luna is a young mersyr still grieving after her mothers death. Day after day the young, soft spoken maiden is left with her hands sore from chores, a heavy heart and the few treasured memories she has with her deceased mother- a life far from the dream she dared to hope it could be. Her 16th birthday a.k.a the coming of age for all the mers in the Atlantic ocean nears and with it both a gift and a burden. After a mishap and a surprising discovery Luna ventures far from home to seek revenge on those who harmed the one closest to her heart. Along the way she meets Jaxus a mysterious handsome man who values solitude and silence far more than words. Slowly he starts to open up to Luna but is his liking to her genuine or just mere pretence?
Luna knows she must stop dwelling on her feelings for Jaxus and start focusing on stepping up the game but with little knowledge on what warfare is like let alone how to control her newest, deadliest weapon yet will she ever stand a chance in defeating her enemies or will she join her mother in the afterlife?
As the battlefield looms ever closer Luna must decide who is friend, who is foe and who is perhaps a little more before it is too late.
