Angel is a young wolf, raised as what she truly is, a Necromancer. She is in a pack of wolves just like her, a pack that, long ago, lost a pup. She was told tales of the dangerous wolf that will grow from this pup, a wolf they must find and kill. She is given the honored job as a searcher, a wolf who goes out to look for this powerful wolf. She stumbles across Mortem accidentally and is immediately charmed by his kind nature. She knows Mortem is the lost pup from so long ago, but a growing bond between them keeps her from giving Mortem to her pack to be killed. When a fellow searcher finds the two together, he tells the alpha of the Necromancers. Angel is given a choice: to save her own life, the lives of her packmates, or to save the life of the one she truly loves...
