"You're not like other girls Sam." He says, a smirk on his face and mischief dancing in his eyes.

I scoff, "Oh really. In what way?"

He locks his eyes on mine, taking a step closer. "You're the only girl in this entire school that isn't falling for me."

"It's really not that hard." I say, rolling my eyes.

"I bet I could get you to fall for me." He bites his lip. "Let's play a little game. We will date, and if you fall for me, you lose and it proves that you're just like every other girl who's obsessed with me"

I was never one to turn down a challenge. Especially one as easy as this. Play the bad boy's game. Don't fall in the process. Piece of cake.

"Deal."

~*~

Samantha accepts Riley's challenge, but not falling for the bad boy is a lot harder than she thought.

"You like this, don't you?" Sam grins, running his tongue over his lip ring. "You're turned on by it." "Please," I wave my hand in dismissal. "You are," he accuses, his voice light. He does it again. I can't look away. "Stop." "Why should I? Little Miss 'I hate everyone at Ryder' really does find me irresistible. Who am I to deny her?" Sam's voice has something of an edge to it and my eyes snap to his. "'Little miss 'I hate everyone at Ryder', huh?" I ignore the second part of his jab. "That's right." I lean against my wardrobe, crossing my arms over my chest. "There's only a few people at Ryder I really can't stand, and you're at the top of my list." Sam's eyes narrow on me. "Is that so?" He turns from the mirror and takes a step in my direction. I refuse to back down, tilting my chin up to keep his gaze as he crowds into my space. His eyes hold mine until he's close enough that I can feel the warmth of his breath over my cheeks and his focus shifts to my mouth. He runs his tongue over the lip ring again, and I feel my own lips part slightly as he does it, my breath coming a little faster. My stomach is pulsing with a mix of nervousness and something I'm not totally ready to admit to myself. ---- Logan Grey's a 16 year-old girl with a penchant for Bob Dylan and running long distances. When her father dies suddenly, she and her best friend come up with a scheme to keep her from moving to her grandparents' Ohio estate: two years of boarding at her Connecticut hometown's highly renowned prep school. But a fluke lands Logan in a room with Ryder Academy's hottest, baddest boy and it's pretty obvious they're not going to get along. At least until Sam Evans and his sexy-as-hell lip ring saunter into her life, upending everything she thought she knew. [This story contains strong language and sexual content. You've been warned!]

"People would die to see us together." Huh, as if. "Too bad their dreams won't ever come true." I leaned forward and gave him a sorry look. "Ever." I added with a sharp edge and narrowed my eyes. He smirked. I stood my ground. But I could still feel my cheeks take up a slight pink. It also made me think if Sam was my only mysterious problem. But I knew better. ~ They're arch-enemies. I let a smirk take it's place on my face as I sauntered over towards him. He looked very amused, but I knew what I was doing. "I heard you're a player." I stated innocently, looking deeply into his cerulean eyes. "What's it to you?" his eyes squinted together as if trying to figure out my intentions. I rubbed my hands together and chuckled humorlessly. "Well I'm a player too, and I want to play a little game." He crossed his arms and leaned back against the lockers. "Do tell." I could tell he was playing along, thinking I was joking around and flirting as always. He was so wrong. In fact, I'd never been more serious in my life. "That's the fun part. We're going to be exclusive." I noted gesturing to the both of us. "We'll do everything like a real couple. Kiss, hold hands, go on dates; the whole package. The first person to fall in love loses."
