Avian Ravenwood has always known her place in the world since she was young, serving the Royalty she had been born to protect. She has always been faithful to the crown that she has served when she first started her training as a Blade, her loyalty was without question. Her top priority was following each order of King Moddox ruler of the Kingdom Kaaemond, as well as becoming the warrior she was always meant to be.

As the younger daughter of the current King's Blade and one of the Apprentices, she has sacrificed what she has wanted most. The ability to choose the man she will come love and perhaps one day marry. As is the tradition that the King himself or her father pick the match she would be betrothed to. But this unfortunate drawback from her profession may yet be reconciled.

For her 17th birthday the King has given her a choice between one of two men. She must make her choice by her 18th birthday or forever lose the power to decide whom she shall marry. Will she remain tied to this destiny chosen for her by the King she serves so faithfully or will she choose the second destiny that she never knew existed until she is sent on a mission that will change her life forever.

On this adventure Avian will learn the truth of who she is and what she must do. She will encounter what she thought were just fables such as elves and dragons. As neither have been spotted in over a century. As she comes to know the truth of the invisible lies surrounding her, Avian must accept it all to be able to make the most important decision of her life.

But will she be able to accomplish the impossible mission that has been set upon her shoulders from before her birth, that others have died trying to accomplish before her time? Will she be able to find what her heart yearns for most in the entire world? Completely and utterly true love.

Only time will tell.

"A dragon and its rider. They are not mere companions but a single entity, united in spirit and purpose until their last breath." - Flight Master Soren Beck. Falamor was divided into two regions, The North and The South. In the northern reaches lies Ashe Academy, a prestigious battle academy dedicated to training elite Dragon Riders for the approaching war against the Southern kingdom, which sought to bring the North to its knees. Jaeda was a 19-year-old orphan conscripted into Ashe Academy. Could she survive to become a Dragon Rider? Carlyle Rayne was a privileged Prince of the North who was expected to attend Ashe Academy and gain the same prestige as his family. Surviving was one thing; mastering combat and Dragonology was another, especially under the watch of the Wing Commander, who happened to be Prince Carlyle Rayne. Would Jaeda remain Flightless or soar higher than she could ever imagine? "Dragons are a proud and ancient species. They have ruled the sky long before humanity, were once the rulers of this realm." - Hana Kol, Master Dragonologist of Ashe Academy. *** Before you ask, NO - FOUTH WING didn't inspire me; it was How to Train Your Dragon and Game of Thrones. Hence, the tags to get my story noticed. I'm sorry for the confusion. This is NOT fan fiction of either of those fandoms. It's my story. It's unedited, a work in progress, a passion project. I would love feedback! Both in Jaeda's POV and Carlyle's POV. A WitchHunter with a glorious destiny. An assassin desperate for freedom. A stable boy with a dangerous secret. A friend with a hidden family. A brother who craves vengeance. ~~~ The deceit is this: The Hunter has a Lochri daughter. The stable boy has a secret curse. The WitchMaster isn't what he appears. No one knows how or why the Lochri came into being. Some believe it was the work of gods. Others, many, many others, believe they are spawned from something much darker. WitchHunters, employed at Hunter's guilds, live their lives in search of these monsters, these unnatural beings who dare to question the order we have kept in place for centuries. I do not hold the title of WitchHunter, however, for I am something far more sinister. I am Alice, the Demon Raven of Kindleridge, and I'm their Ace. ~~~ They call her the Ace, the assassin owned by Velius Dag, highest ranking WitchMaster in the Kingdom. For six years, the Ace has lived mostly unbothered, but all that will change when Hale Arsen, Velius's adopted son, returns to the Ridge, and the Ace is assigned to protect him, as he will one day become the future WitchMaster. Tensions rise as the two clashing personalities come together time after time in feud, but with the Lochri problem growing ever stronger, and secrets begin to unravel themselves, these two opposing forces will have to realize that working together may be the only way to keep the world from figuring out the truth that could spell disaster for them all. What happens when you realize you might be the bad guy?
