She sat down at the table, scribbling away at a piece of paper for him, sealing it in an envelope with a purple wax seal. She kicked open a rusty, old metal box with her foot, throwing the letter in and shutting it. The letter lay lonely by itself inside the box. Lucas lay outside the door, leaning against it, a tear falling down his face. Riley lay on the other side of the door inside her apartment, tears welling in her eyes as well.❞
