The reader is be 15, turning 16 soon. (Girl Readers for the most part.) She lives with her abusive mother, who is addicted to alcohol and heroin (dark, I know.) Often coming home in paranoia, the reader is afraid of what is to come when she gets home from school. One chilly Fall afternoon, (Y/N) comes home to see a large basket on the kitchen table. Seeing that her mother isn't home, (Y/N) goes to the basket, seeing 3 babies inside, each having tiny clothes on, with.... Wings behind their backs?!
