Sweet Siren

The old world had banished me away for something I hadn’t meant to do—something that I would never had even considered doing. The new world had never held someone like me—someone who had never learned its secret ways.
But here I was, on the threshold between the two.
Bound to the old by a fraying thread.
Called to the new by a siren’s sweet song.
The choice was so hard.
The choice was so easy.
One step forwards: across the threshold, through an invisible barrier, into a new life—a new world.
And there was no going back.

There was so much I never knew, so much I wish I could go back and fix. But even in this world where anything is possible, there is no going back. Not once you step forwards.
