Lani was just a normal high school student, doing her best to keep her grades up and keep her garden healthy. All of that changed when Lucas showed up. His uncle had brought home to her hometown in Chicago, to live his cousin. All of a sudden, Lucas had to leave, taking Joseph, Lani's crush and second best friend with him. When they came back, Joseph was acting very different. But it was good. He was more confident, more bold. After telling him about a dream she had, he took her to Lucas's paternal uncle/stepfather, Mr. Sheng. She never could have guessed what happened next.
