When a rare Homeworld gem named Chrysoberyl questions who she is and her loyalty to her diamond, she doesn't know where to turn to. That is, other than the earth. But when she arrives, she finds she is not alone. A common merlinite general, left behind by her crew has despicable feelings for Homeworld. When they meet, their similarities show more than their differences. Though they eventually see Homeworld in the same light, they choose to act upon if differently. But that doesn't take fusion out of the picture. Especially when they come across the strange rebels called the Crystal Gems...

No one believed a human could stand against the Gem Empire-until one was given the power to change everything. Fenrir was one of the strangest members of the Crystal Gems. She was able to stand toe-to-toe against some of the toughest soldiers that Homeworld had to offer, but, despite her monstrous appearance-purple fur, blazing red wings, and horns that curved above her head-she was still human. Rose Quartz and Garnet rescued her from a Gem research facility, but even Garnet's future vision couldn't prepare them for the horrors Fenrir had endured. Her strength made her a formidable ally in the Gem War, and she quickly became an invaluable member of the Crystal Gems. She was their secret weapon, revered for her power. Unfortunately, none of them realized that they'd have to finish the fight without her. Near the end of the war, she was sent on a mission and disappeared, leaving her comrades to carry on without her. That is until several thousand years later when she appeared on a certain beach near a small town. As she reconnects with Garnet and the other Crystal Gems, she must confront the consequences of her absence, her volatile power, and the deep bond she shares with those she once fought beside. The battle isn't over-Fenrir still carries the weight of her past, and the future is far from certain. ~~~~~~------~~~~~~ Steven Universe OC insert with some focus on Garnet because Square Mom is Best Mom. The Halves of Rose

23 parts Complete

"You don't choose family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them." - Desmond Tutu. A warrior who lost everything, an experience called an abomination by her own, a diplomat running from her mistakes, and orphaned twins just wanting to live up to what their parents thought they would be. They are Rose Quartz's legacy. They are the Crystal Gems. An odd AU that is rather different from canon (and yes, I'm aware of how weird the concept is). The story begins to make major changes as the story progresses. Anyway, hope you have as much fun reading this as I did making it. (Also, read chapter 22. Trust me.)
