Based on the song "Paradise" by Coldplay Life was perfect. Or at least, as perfect as a life can be. I had it all: the money, the family, the resources, and, at least at the time, the throne. I was the only daughter of the largest and most successful company in the world. Guess what we produced? Inns. Lots of ‘em. My father, the business men of business men, was the head director of the largest chain of high quality commercial inns the world had seen at the time. Our hospitality industry was centuries ahead of what the world expected. The year was 1938, when the complications between humans and magical creatures were still yet to come. The wheels of war had not yet begun to turn. I had a full schedule. Between schooling about hospitality, business, politics, music, cooking, cleaning, and parties, I wasn’t exactly the social butterfly fourteen year old of the year to the locals. I was an heir. The way I saw it, I didn’t even need friends, except for my best friend, Toki. As long as I had him, my parents, my co-workers, and my destined empire, I was happy. I grew up with the world promised to me, laid out at my feet. And then my world crumbled.
