Reasons to Breathe

Carter Jackson has been given approximately 18 months to live. Diagnosed with lung cancer at twenty years old, she faces the difficulty of finding a reason to continue without the support of family (her parents are dead and older brother in jail for burglary) and friends (never made any). However, one chance encounter that saves a stranger will change everything.

Cage is a popular street fighter, with a reputation for dealing with problems fists first and questions later. But when a young woman saves his life by pushing him out of the way of a thrown knife, he decides to try and pay his debt. As the two grow closer, he realizes that there is something that Carter isn't telling him, a secret that only seems to worsen as time goes on.

Cage's only chance at saving Carter is to give her just one reason to breathe.
