In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. A Journey's End
He should've been angry. He had every right to be, but instead he felt an eerie calmness wash over him, like some part of him had always known this was coming. So what if he was dying? He'd already died once before, and now the land was at peace. He was okay with it. He lived freely, and he would pass on with no regrets. Fi was dying with him, so he wouldn't be alone either. So when eight heroes showed up claiming there was yet another journey for him, he didn't hesitate. He and Fi both knew-this would be their final journey.
A Fall From Grace
If you had the opportunity to change fate, would you? Even if there was a small chance, that it could all go wrong? What if you didn't have a choice, does that make it better? Link seeks the answers to these questions, even if he does not know that he will ask them one day. Time has been altered, a branch has been created. Will this lead to a better future, or a worse one? Only time will tell. My question to you, dear reader: Do you believe they will succeed, or will they experience a fall from grace?

"You will aid the hero during his journey in defeating Calamity Ganon." That was the order that was given to you by goddess Hylia. Although the goddess had first planned to have the hero do his journey alone, she took sympathy for him and decided to create him a partner, one that would aid him during the dangerous travels to the Divine Beasts and finally, Calamity Ganon. That was your purpose. 100 years passed since the defeat of the Champions, although one remained. The one you were to help once he awoke from his slumber. Link. // This is a story entirely based on the game BOTW. Although a few changes will be made the overall story line will be game-based. That doesn't mean there won't be cliffhangers and all that juicy stuff. Yes, romance will play a part, but I just overall hope you guys enjoy the story! [Original Description] Link has finally returned to Hyrule after being forced by the Hyrule goddesses to sit aside for seven years so that time itself can continue to flow smoothly. And naturally everyone is excited over the return of the Hero of Time, especially Princess Zelda. When Link tells Zelda of his journeys through other lands, one of those tales becomes all too real for the princess. What is it? Only one way to find out! To reiterate, this story isn't mine. It was written by someone going by the name "Grey" on VGGTS World all the way back in 2005 while the site was still active. While I don't possess ownership of this work and all credit goes to the original creator, I decided to upload it here because I wanted more people to read it, as i don't think too many people did untill now, which is a shame because I personally found it pretty good.
