Vulgar (Frerard)

Gerard was a genius. Or so he'd been told on countless occasions.

Really, he didn't see what all the fuss was about. So what if he'd come top of all his classes without opening a textbook and could solve a Rubik's cube in less than 45 seconds. And even he wasn't going to deny that he was downright brilliant at chess but still, no one seemed to consider the fact that maybe Gerard didn't want to be accepted into Cambridge or, for that fact, any of the universities and colleges that he was continuously being told he was a 'worthy candidate' for.

In fact, Gerard didn't even want to pursue tertiary education at all and for the amount of times he had been commended for his immaculate mind, he was sure as hell getting treated as if he had the mental capacity of a horsefly. And yes, Gerard was completely aware that he was not 'achieving his potential' but when the comments started peaking to a delightfully overused phrase that went something along the lines of 'pissing his life away' Gerard decided that really, his message didn't appear to be coming across strongly enough.

And so Gerard grew accustomed to a life of living in his parents' basement, learning how to hack computers and then reading his brother's emails.

We all have our flaws, and Gerard knew his better than the average person did (much like everything else). So when the opportunity came, Gerard knew that he really couldn't turn down the opportunity to a friendly game of Scrabble. And for somebody so smart, that really was a stupid decision on his part.Because once Gerard Way sets his mind on something, there is nothing that can stop him.

And maybe Gerard was not entirely to blame, maybe the short kid with the lipring and pretentious smirk should have just let Gerard win that game of Scrabble. But flaws are not something that people can choose or give back if they are not satisfied and when two incredibly intelligent people have one common flaw, nothing ever goes according to plan.
