After falling down a storybook well, fifteen year old Winona finds herself in the strange land of Thete where the citizens are split into two major kingdoms, the Kingdom of Hearts and the Kingdom of Spades. Upon hearing of Winona's prescence, the evil Queen of Spades sends her henchman to capture her. Quickly Winona gathers together a mad painter, gorgeous monster, flamboyant fish man, mute bird, beastly quadruplets, graceless elf, magician, and a tree nymph as an army to help her defeat the Queen's own.
