"Get lost, pig. I have you know, I'm an aspiring model and I have no time for frat boys like you." "I-I'm not a frat. I'm H-Harry by t-the way." Louis only looked at him with an unamused face, raising his hand to his lips, taking a drag from his cigar. Harry was silent for a while before an idea popped in his head. "My- my band." The curly haired boy said. "My band is looking for a model." "Oh yeah? You can sing?" Louis said, blowing out the smoke from his cigar. "Y-Yeah." "Sing me a song then." Harry's eyes widened. "U-uhm, I dont have-" "C'mon. Sing." Louis pushed on. Harry gulped, nodding. "Funny how it seems like yesterday. As I recall you were looking out of place. Gathered up your things and slipped away. No time at all I followed you into the hall. Cigarette daydreams. You were only seventeen. Soft speak with a mean streak. Nearly brought me to my knees." Harry sang, trying to hit the right notes in the right places. He thought he did alright. Louis smirked, biting the end of his cigar to hold it between his teeth as he neared to a nervous Harry. "Who's your manager?" "The b-blonde boy with t-the bike." Harry pointed behind him. Harry lied but he hoped Louis didn't notice that. Louis turned his attention to the boy waving at him from across the street. He nodded, looking back to Harry. "Here's my number." Louis picked out a pen from the pocket of his jean jacket and grabbed Harry's hand, starting to write his digits on Harry's palm. "Call me." He walked back to his house, winking at Harry. Harry grinned at him, blushing and turned around to his blonde, irish friend, running to him saying, "We need to make a band." ________________________________________ Inspired by the movie, Sing Street.

I weren't expectin' much when I walked into that loo, just a quick wee before headin' back to the other contestants. But then there he was - curly-haired, green-eyed, brushin' his teeth like he didn't have a care in the world. Harry. Didn't know then that meetin' him would change everythin'. We both got kicked outta The X Factor Bootcamp on our own, but fate - or one of the judges - decided we weren't done yet. Next thing we know, we're in a band with three other lads, and just like that, everythin' goes from ordinary to absolutely mental. Screamin' crowds, cameras in our faces, managers tellin' us what to say, what to do, who to be. And then there's him. From the very start, there's somethin' pullin' me to him, somethin' I can't quite put me finger on. We just get each other. It's easy with him. Too easy. But I've got a girlfriend back home - Hannah - and whatever this is, it ain't meant to be, right? Not when we're bein' watched every second of the day, not when our whole lives are mapped out before we even get a say. But feelings don't just disappear 'cause they're inconvenient. And some things - some things are louder than words. ••• Hey guys! Welcome to my story ‚Louder Than Words' :) I just wanted to ask you to bear with me - English isn't my first language, but I'm doing my best to do Louis and Harry's story justice. This story is written from Louis' perspective, and I'm trying to stay true to his character and Doncaster dialect. Of course, I might not always get it spot on, but I'm always open to your thoughts and suggestions! Other than that, I'm not one for long intros, so I'll just say - enjoy the read! I hope you like it. This is my version of their story, with some parallels to reality. I'm not implying that any of this actually happened - this is purely a work of fiction.
