In the summer of 1908, Elisabeth Whitemore is sent to live with her grandparents in Livingston, Montana, which is not in her best interests. Elisabeth had planned to spend the summer in Oregon with her parents and friends. But once she gets the news, her plans for the summer are going in a bit of a different direction.
Now, with months to go, Elisabeth must make new friends, get acquainted with family, and learn to live in an unfamiliar place. In the end, it comes about to be more of a life lesson than a family reunion.
